(MARTINSVILLE) - A judge has sentenced a man to 45 years in prison for fatally shooting another man in a Morgantown field where they had met to fight over a woman both were dating.
Twenty-year-old Justen Knapp of Trafalgar apologized during Thursday's Morgan County court hearing for killing 20-year-old Bradley Price.
The Daily Journal reports Knapp said he had been using marijuana and prescription pills before the Oct. 11 confrontation with Price in a field near Morgantown.
Knapp pleaded guilty to murder charges in a deal with prosecutors.
Vicki Price testified that her son's death wrecked her family. She says she received his GED certificate in the mail six days after his death and that he was about to start a new job.
