(MARTINSVILLE) - There are new details and more victims of a man accused of taking secret pictures of women in dressing rooms and in tanning salons.
Last month, Christopher Simmons was charged with voyeurism and possessing child pornography after Plainfield police say he was caught trying to photograph a woman in a dressing room at the Victoria's Secret at Metropolis in Plainfield.
When investigators searched Simmons' phone, they found dozens of other pictures. Some of them, were images of naked children engaged in sex acts. The Indiana Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force is still investigating those.
Now, Martinsville Police have charged Simmons with 3 counts of voyeurism, saying some of the women in the photos are from the Sol Spa Tanning Salon in Martinsville.
"I've been doing this for 15 years and have never had an incident like this," said Jeff Mills, the salon's owner.
According to investigators, Simmons took 21 pictures on three separate occasions when he came to Sol Spa to tan.
The walls at the salon don't go all the way up to the ceiling.
According to the probable cause affidavit, Simmons "could have used the chair or the tanning bed to gain access over the wall of the room." Police said they believe Simmons held his phone over the wall and captured the naked shots, without the knowledge of the women.
Describing one of the photos, the affidavit said "the woman in the photo is not wearing any clothes. Her body is exposed from top of her head to her arms. Her breasts are exposed."
In a photo of another alleged victim, the affidavit said "the female is facing to the right. She has no clothes on. Her body is exposed from the top of her head to her feet. "
Mills said he has spoken to one of the alleged victims from his salon. "When she comes forward, she'll be very aggressive, I'm sure," said Mills.
Mills credited the woman in the Victoria's Secret incident for coming forward so the alleged incident at his salon could come to light. "That's what started all of this, you know? All we're doing is assisting. She's the one that started it," said Mills.
Simmons is out on bond. He now faces voyeurism charges in both Hendricks and Morgan Counties, along with charges of possessing child porn.
