(BEDFORD) - Three people were hurt in a wreck on South I Street near Bright Lane Friday night.
According to a Lawrence County Police report, 21-year-old Jeffrey Arthur, of Bedford was traveling south in a 1999 Chevrolet truck when he rounded a corner and the truck started to fishtail. Arthur told police he didn't' remember any other details about the crash.
Police say Arthur's truck collided with a 2011 Chevrolet Equinox driven by 85-year-old Robert McCain who was traveling north on I Street. McCain told police that Arthur's truck was traveling at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the truck.
Witnesses at the scene confirmed McCain's story.
After impact, McCain's Equinox and the truck both went off the east side of the road into a wooded area. The Equinox flipped on its side.
Arthur told police that he believed his leg was broken. McCain and a passenger, 81-year-old Bonnie J. McCain, of 2648 Vinegar Hill Road, complained of chest pain. All three were taken to Indiana University Health Bedford Hospital for treatment.
