(LINTON) - Two women were arrested over the weekend after they allegedly went one round inside a bar and another one outside before police broke up the fight.
21-year-old Chelsea Nicole McGowan, and 24-year-old Melinda House, both from Linton, were arrested Saturday on charges of disorderly conduct.
Anna Rochelle of the Greene County Daily World reports, Linton Police Sgt. Chad E. Crynes says officers went to the Palace Bar after receiving a 911 call around 11 p.m. saying there was a fight inside the bar. Then a they received a second report that the fight had moved to the parking lot.
Crynes responded to the scene, located near the intersection of NW 1st and Vincennes streets, along with LPD Officers Tom Jerrels, Debbie McDonald-Miller and Rodney Bredeweg.
When officers arrived, they reported the two women were actively fighting on the ground, striking each other and pulling each other's hair.
Officer Bredeweg pulled the two apart from each other.
Both of the women blamed the other one for starting the fight.
According to the police report, House said it started because McGowan bumped into her and McGowan said House started it when she made a comment about McGowan's children. Both blamed the other for making the first physical contact.
Disorderly conduct is a class B misdemeanor. Bond for each was set at $500 and they've both been released from jail after posting ten percent cash.
A criminal case was filed against both women on Monday in Greene Superior Court.
