(BEDFORD) - Two teens were arrested after the 14-year-old driver crashed into a tree Tuesday night.
According to a Bedford Police report, the 14-year-old driver was intoxicated and refused to cooperate with police.
Officers were called to the 2100 block of H Street at 7:37 p.m. because a 1994 Mercury Topaz had crashed into a large tree.
When police arrived they found an intoxicated 14-year-old girl had been driving the vehicle.
The girl and her passenger, 18-year-old Mariah Smith, also of Bedford, were not injured. The vehicle was registered to Jamie Funk, of Ted Jones Drive.
The 14-year-old would not cooperate with police, so it is unclear why she was driving or how the accident happened.
The 14-year-old was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangerment, public intoxication, illegal consumption, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating a vehicle while never licensed.
Smith was charged with illegal consumption, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, violation of driver's permit.
