(WASHINGTON) - According to Washington Police almost $20,000 was stolen from a safe at Hillside Manor Nursing Home Wednesday.
Police received a call from an employee at the nursing home at 8 a.m. reporting the robbery.
According to Washington Police Detective Trent McWilliams, the employee told police the cash was in small envelopes and blank checks were taken from the safe in Julie Helm Chapman's office. Chapman is the administrator.
Police say the theft entered her office through a window and exited the same way.
The person also broke into Chapman's desk, but nothing was taken.
Police are reviewing the security of video from a nearby gas station for a possible suspect.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call police at 254-4410.
