(MITCHELL) - Gerald Mosier and Sharon Jackson recently relocated 2nd Chance Closet to 925 W. Main St., where the store was able to expand its offerings.
The resale store was located downtown, but the couple began looking at the former NAPA building at 925 W. Main St. and began leasing the building in April.
"We went into it with a lot of work to do," Jackson said. "(We) spent about three weeks remodeling the store. There were a lot of late nights and weekends. We went in and gave the store a new look. We repainted and add three bright colors.
"(When) we made the move to the new location, our dream came true. We expanded into new furniture, beds, chairs, futons, patio furniture and more. Our inventory changes daily."
The store offers in-store credit for those wishing to get rid of gently used furniture and clothing. Punch cards, a VIP text club and "cash and carry" specials on furniture are also available.
"We have had so many people just stop by and tell us we did a great thing at the old NAPA building, bringing an old building back to life," Jackson said. "People seem to love the new store and all we have to offer."
The couple also operates a store at 1125 Tipton St., Seymour. The Mitchell store is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays. For more information, call 849-9000.
