(BEDFORD) - A 24-year-old Bedford man was injured after he apparently backed his Jeep into a house at 838 Lincoln Ave. Wednesday morning.
According to a Bedford Police report, Robert Booker suffered severe bleeding to the back of his head. He was transported to IU Health Bedford Hospital for treatment.
Officers were called to the 800 block of Lincoln Avenue at 4:55 a.m. When they arrived, Booker was in the driver's seat of a 1994 white Jeep attempting to leave the scene. That is when officers discovered Booker had been drinking.
However, due to Booker's injuries, Booker could not perform a standard field sobriety. Officers requested his blood be drawn at the hospital for testing. Those results are pending.
According to police, Booker backed his Jeep through the lawn and hit a mailbox before hitting the house.
Booker is facing charges of driving while intoxicated.
