(FAYETTEVILLE) - Lawrence County Police arrested a Bloomfield man after he got into a fight with a woman and injured her.
According to Sheriff Sam Craig, officers were called to a home in the 100 block of Indian Creek Road at 4:47 a.m. after they received a call reporting a woman had been cut during a domestic fight with a knife.
"The call came in from a second party reporting a stabbing," Craig says. "But when police arrived at the home they found the woman had a bruise on her arm and a scratch on her finger."
The man involved in the fight had left the home before police arrived, Craig says.
"A second officer going to the scene stopped a vehicle north of Sandstone Road and arrested 47-year-old Jeffery Wright."
Wright, of Bloomfield was charged with battery causing injury.
