(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington woman was arrested after police found her 2-year-old daughter in a van with the doors locked and windows closed Tuesday.
Bloomington Police Department Sgt. Joe Crider says officers believe the child had been in the van for more than 25 minutes. Crider added, temperatures outside the van were above 80 degrees.
37-year-old Tracy Robb was charged with neglect of a dependent.
Police found Robb inside a home on the 1600 block of North Willis Drive when the two children when police arrived.
Robb told police she had asked two male friends who were inside the home with her to take the toddler from the vehicle while she ran errands. Crider says the men brought the 5-year-old boy inside, but not the 2-year-old girl.
Robb told police she thought the men were watching both children, but the men told police they though Robb had taken the girl with her.
Crider says the girl was hot, thirsty and upset, but did not require medical attention.
