(SALEM) - The choir director at First Christian Church along with a grandfather-grandson team called Pedro’s Pals will present a concert at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 2, at First Christian Church, Salem.
Tom Rasely, the church choir director, said there is no charge but a free will offering will be taken to help fund a mission trip planned by the youth group.
Rasely is a fingerstyle guitarist and composer. According to his Web site, he began playing in 1964, received his bachelor of music education degree from Suny Fredonia, gives lessons and has recorded several CDs. He has toured in a number of states and has even performed twice at the White House.
Jack Hedrick and his grandson, Ben Ratts, make up the duo called Pedro's Pals. Hedrick plays base; his grandson, guitar.
The church youth group is working with TEAMeffort, an organization that arranges mission trips, and plans to travel to Topsail Beach, North Carolina. Topsail is one of the communities that was hit last year by Hurricane Sandy. For more information about the concert, contact First Christian Church, 883-4506.
