(ORLEANS) - Saturday nights are heating up in downtown Orleans as The Orleans Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Touchstone Energy/ Orange County REMC presents another summer of Concerts in the Park.
The popular event kicks off its 2013 season Saturday in historic Congress Square with a performance by the Louisville based River Cities Concert Band.
River Cities is a traditional concert band consisting of woodwinds, brass and percussion. Concert attendees will hear a wide variety of music styles, from marches, to jazz, to Broadway, and beyond. The group promises the musical ride of your life. Concerts are presented by the band year-round at various locations in Louisville and Southern Indiana.
The free concert will begin at 7 p.m. in the southwest corner area of Congress Square.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs or blankets, as seating in the park is limited.
In the event of inclement weather, concerts may be slightly delayed, cancelled or moved indoors to the nearby Orleans Christian Church, Unity Hall.
