(SEYMOUR) - The former site of the state highway garage on East Tipton Street in Seymour has a new look and purpose.
Cummins Inc. has built a large retention pond on the property in the 800 block of East Tipton Street next to the former Indiana State Police post to manage stormwater runoff from the ongoing $219 million expansion of its Seymour Engine Plant.
Seymour Plan Commission recently approved the company's plans for developing that property along with 160 S. Jackson Park Drive, where the old Big Blue store once operated.
Cummins owns both properties and is turning the latter into the main production facility for its High Horsepower division and a parking lot for employees.
