(SULLIVAN) - A Linton man will appear in court to face charges after he allegedly beat a Sullivan man unconscious with a baseball bat.
32-year-old Seth Bedwell, was charged with hitting 25-year-old Braden Crame in the head several times and knocking him out in the parking lot of the Diamond BBQ on South Section Street in the early morning hours of May 5.
Bedwell will make a court appearance at 10 a.m. on June 25 to face the charges.
When Sullivan Police arrived they found Crame laying in the parking lot, bleeding profusely from his head and face. Crame suffered several lacerations to his face and head. He was taken by ambulance to Sullivan Community Hospital.
A witness to the fight told police Bedwell, who was armed with a baseball bat ran from the corner of the building and repeatedly hit Cramer in the face and head with it. According to other witnesses he then continued to hit and kick Cramer while he was on the ground.
Police say Cramer was attending a graduation party at Diamond BBQ, when there was an argument inside the building between a bar patron and a member of Cramer's party.
According to Cramer's statement, he thought he had diffused the situation, seeing the two people involved shake hands. That was the last thing he remembered until waking up in the emergency room.
Cramer suffered a fractured eye socket, a broken nose in three places, and had torn tendons and ligaments in his left knee, according to a battery affidavit.
