(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington Police arrested 46-year-old Michael Spencer, after the former employee was found attempting to break into Cafe Djago on North Grant Street.
Police Sgt. Joe Crider says the manager of the cafe was returning to the business around 11 p.m. when he found Spencer using a sprinkler head to try and break into the building.
The manager confronted Spencer, who was warned on May 13 not to come back to the cafe.
Spencer told the manager he needed $5 and asked the manager if he would give it to him.
The manager refused and Spencer dropped the sprinkler head ran away.
The manager called police. When they arrived Crider says officer saw the sprinkler head and the pry marks on the door.
They got Spencer's address from the manager, went to the residence where they found Spencer hiding from police. Crider says Spencer admitted to trying to break into the cafe.
He was charged with burglary. But Crider says this is not the first time Spencer has been arrested. He was arrested in the March 19th breaking and entering at the Laundry Works on East Third Street.
