Last updated on Thursday, June 13, 2013

(BEDFORD) - Parkview Primary School first-grade teacher Lindsay Endris charged with trafficking with an inmate after officers found more drugs in her underwear.

According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, Endris was arrested after Lawrence County officer stopped her vehicle at Ind 37 between 37th and 39th streets Tuesday.

"When officers heard her name over the air, we became interested," Parsley says. "Officers had received information that she might be involved with drugs."

A BPD narcotics officer went to the scene of the traffic stop to provide backup for the county officer.

At that time, 26-year-old Endris, told officers there was drugs in a cosmetics bag under her seat.

Officers arrested Endris on charges of possession of heroin, possession of heroin with intent to deal, possession of meth, two counts of possessing a Schedule IV controlled substance.

But once at the jail an additional charge was added after jail officials found Endris had more drugs in her underwear.

According to Lawrence County Sheriff Sam Craig, while Endris was changing into a jail uniform and searched by a jail matron the other drug items were found.

Jail officials then contacted Bedford officers, who returned to the jail to collect the items.

The drug trafficking charge was then added to the list of other charges.

Endris remained in the Lawrence County Security Center this morning, where her bond is set at $2,005 cash or $20,000 surety.
