(GREENE COUNTY) - State Road 445 in eastern Greene County will re-open to traffic June 12.
The road has been closed since mid-November 2012 while a connector road to Interstate 69 was constructed.
"After morning rush hour on Thursday, June 20, contractor's crews will reopen S.R. 445. The traffic signal at the S.R. 445 and S.R. 45 intersection (Eastern Heights) will also be reactivated, however, it will be located just south of its previous location," Cher Elliott, spokesperson for the Indiana Department of Transportation's Vincennes District office stated in a prepared news release.
The road has been closed from State Road 45 to the junction of State Road 54.
County Road 1250 East (C.R. 1250E) in Greene County was closed for construction of the new I-69 corridor.
C.R. 1250E will close between S.R. 54 and C.R. 325S for approximately 30 days as contractor's crews move dirt, Elliott stated.
"No through vehicle traffic will be allowed on C.R. 1250E in this area, however, local residents will have access to the point of closure," according to Elliott.
Also on Monday, INDOT plans to close a portion of State Road 54 for repair of a railroad crossing in Linton.
At approximately 8 a.m., railroad crews will close State Road 54 from the junction of State Road 59 North to the junction of State Road 59 South.
Crews will be making repairs to the crossing three-tenths of a mile west of the S.R. 59 South junction near Kinnett Auto Sales.
All work is scheduled to be completed by 2 p.m. on Friday, June 14, weather permitting.
The official detour will route traffic on U.S. Route 41, S.R. 58, S.R. 67 and S.R. 59.
