(BEDFORD) - Lawrence County Tourism Commission, in Mitchell, announces a Limestone Tour at Empire Quarry on Thursday June 13.
Visitors will see where stone was extracted in the 1930s to construct the Empire State Building and learn the role the quarry played in our country's heritage.
Cost is $5 with buses leaving the parking lot behind the Lawrence County Museum on 15th Street at 10 a.m. seating is limited. To register contact the Tourism Office at 849- 1090.
