(BLOOMINGTON) - Two men were arrested Saturday after three men got into a confrontation and then started throwing rocks at each other at Seminary Square.
Bloomington Police officers were called to Seminary Square just after 6 p.m. after a report of a possible stabbing.
When officers arrived they found 46-year-old Donald Thomas and 58-year-old Tyrone McClendon throwing rocks at each other.
Officer ordered both men to drop the rocks. When Thomas refused, officer sprayed Thomas with pepper spray. But Thomas continued to throw the rocks at McClendon and officers.
After a brief skirmish with police Thomas was placed in handcuffs.
As officers were gathering information they learned the fight started after a third man, 52-year-old Charles Frink approached McClendon, who was asleep on the ground, and stated punching him in the face and then started throwing rocks at McClendon.
It is unclear how, Thomas then became involved.
Police say all three men were intoxicated.
McClendon did suffer a bruised face from being punched and being hit with rocks. The other two men were not injured.
Fink was charged with aggravated battery and intimidation. Thomas was arrested and charged with resisting arrest and attempted battery, because none of the rocks he threw hit McClendon. McClendon was not arrested.
