(WASHINGTON) - A Washington man died Monday morning after a one-vehicle accident on Northeast 7th Street.
According to police, 58-year-old Carl Daily was driving southbound on Northeast 7th Street at a high rate of speed when he drove through the Main Street intersection and his pick-up truck hit a utility pole, stop sign and a tree.
Washington Police Officers and emergency personnel were already on the scene at around 10 a.m. after they were called to an injury of a construction worker on a roof at a nearby residence.
Police witnessed blue Chevrolet pick-up traveling at a high rate of speed.
Daily suffered head and internal injuries and died a short time later at Daviess Community Hospital.
Police say they are investigating whether Daily may have experienced a medical problem prior to the accident.
