(WASHINGTON) - Washington City officials have closed WaterWorld.
Mayor Joe Wellman says the park will be closed indefinitely until repairs can be made to the park's mechanical system.
Wellman says officials learned Friday that a water culture test showed the water unsuitable for public use and decided to close the pool for public safety.
City workers did some repairs and another water culture was ordered.
Those results are expected no later than today and Wellman says a decision to reopen the park will be made at the City council meeting at 6:30 p.m.
