(BLOOMINGTON) - A Terre Haute woman has been sentenced to four years in prison as part of a plea agreement for her role in trying to hide the man who fatally shot a Terre Haute police officer.
The Tribune-Star reports Monroe County Judge Marc Kellams sentenced 24-year-old Heather Elkins on Friday after she admitted her involvement in concealing Shaun Seeley.
The case was moved from Vigo County to Monroe County because of pretrial publicity and public outrage about the July 2011 death of Officer Brent Long.
The plea agreements also dealt with charges of felony possession of meth, maintaining a common nuisance, receiving stolen property and resisting law enforcement.
