(BEDFORD) - This year’s Lawrence County 4-H fair will feature a variety of new entertainment from musical acts to tractor and UTV competitions.
Country artists Jason Sturgeon and Levi Riggs will perform in concert July 13.
Sturgeon grew up in Petersburg, and performed at the Judah Festival last weekend. He has opened for Brooks & Dunn, Rodney Atkins and Luke Bryan, and released his first CD, "That's me" in 2010. Levi Riggs is from Danville and has opened for The Band Perry, Easton Corbin, Colt Ford, Justin Moore and Brett Eldredge.
There has been a change to the lineup on the Fair brochure. Although Washington and Out had previously been scheduled to perform as free entertainment on Friday, July 12, they have been replaced by blues/rock group Primo.
New this year is the Battle of the Blue Grass Tractor Pulls, a Louisville-based regional truck pulling series. Fair Board Secretary Michelle Cornett says there is a tractor pull every year, but nothing this big or fast.
The fair is also bringing back the BMX shows as part of this year's free entertainment. This year the show will include a raffle to win a bicycle. There will also be the usual ATV race, but new will be the utility terrain vehicle race.
The UTV competition will be a "low speed race" that has vehicles performing turns and crossing mounds and a mud section.
The nightly entertainment begins Saturday and ends with the concert on July 13.
