(BLOOMINGTON) - The Children’s Organ Transplant Association, a Bloomington-based charity, received a four-star rating for the third consecutive year from an agency that ranks nonprofits based on fiscal responsibility and transparency.
Charity Navigator's four-star rating put COTA among more than 1,800 charities across the country. The rating agency has more than a million IRS-registered charities listed on its website.
COTA is a national charity that provides fundraising assistance to families of those needing organ transplants, and the website says 100 percent of all funds raised are used for transplant-related expenses.
