(JACKSON COUNTY) - Local officials hope donated cellphones can be the difference between victims of domestic violence calling for help or staying silent in an abusive situation.
Jackson County Sheriff's Department and Turning Point Domestic Violence Services are teaming to help protect domestic violence victims by collecting old cellphones.
The agencies will collect unused cellphones and phone accessories, such as chargers and cases, at this year's Jackson County Fair, which is set for July 21-27 in Brownstown.
