(UNDATED) - Hot and humid weather will continue for Central Indiana.
According to the National Weather Service the heat index will again rise to between 100 and 104 degrees over Central Indiana today and Friday, due to the hot temperatures and high humidity.
Heat index values over 100 degrees can cause heat illness quickly and with little warning. Exercise caution this week. Drink plenty of fluids. Avoid over exertion. Activities that were easy earlier in the summer may be too strenuous now and should be avoided or rescheduled for early morning or late evening when it is cooler.
Be mindful of the impact of heat on children, the elderly, those with medical conditions and pets.
Temperatures rise to deadly levels rapidly in parked cars. Never leave a child or pet in cars. Always check the back seat when exiting a vehicle.
A frontal passage will bring Central Indiana slightly cooler weather Saturday. Cooling is going to be more evident on Sunday when the heat index should only reach the 80s.
