(BEDFORD) - Are you looking for advise to improve your garden or just enjoy an evening stroll through a beautiful garden get your tickets for the Lawrence County Cancer Patient Services Garden Walk scheduled for today from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Those taking the walk will tour nine local gardens plus the Bedford Public Library grounds.
Tickets are $10 and will benefit all-volunteer groups which assist local cancer patients with treatment, transportation, prostheses and medical supplies when insurance or patients just don't have the funds.
At each home on the tour, a Master Gardener will be available to answer questions, identify plants and share information on how to grow a beautiful garden.
Tickets are on sale at Copy Trolley, Wiley Art Center and Hair Sensations. Tickets will be sold at the start of the tour.
Tour-goers should park at First United Methodist Church, 14th and K streets.
The Garden Walk starts at the Bedford Public Library, and proceeds along 14th Street and back on 13th Street.
The tour ends with refreshments at the Wiley Art Center, located at 14th and J streets.
Homes on the tour include: Ned and Mary Nell Boyer, Jim and Becky Buher, Jean and John Williams, Kathy and Brian Thompson, Susan and Mark Scherschel, Julie Hewetson, Rowena and Dr. Jim Mount, Amy and Nathan Nikirk and Sue and Dr. Jim Wilhite.
