(BEDFORD) - The Lawrence County 4-H fair kicks off today.
From 5 a.m. to noon 4-H exhibitors will bring in their prized livestock in hopes of winning that grand champion ribbon.
Then at noon check out the pie eating contest.
At 2 p.m. will be the Fashion Revue at the Expo Hall. Then at 4 p.m. 4-Hers will show off their dog's talents at the 4-H Dog Obedience Show .
The 4-H Horse and Pony English Show will begin at 6 p.m. and then top off the evening with the Battle of the Blue Grass Tractor Pull which begins at 7 p.m.
The fair will also feature lots of popcorn and new carnival rides.
Lawrence County Fair Board Secretary Michelle Cornett says the popcorn theme is statewide. The Indiana State Fair will feature a 5,000 pound edible popcorn ball.
It's being made by a LaGrange County company that specializes in making caramel corn, caramel puffs and fudge for the snack food industry.
According to the Indiana State Fair website, Indiana is the nation's second largest popcorn producer, which is why popcorn will be the featured product at the 2013 State Fair.
A big change this year will be the new carnival provided by Derby City, a company out of Louisville, with rides beginning Monday to Saturday.
Fair-goers will be able to purchase a ride bracelet each night of the fair for only $15.
The livestock shows and other 4-H events begin Saturday with the pie contest, fashion revue, 4-H dog obedience show, grand opening of the exhibit hall, and 4-H horse and pony English competition.
Nightly entertainment will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday with the Battle of Bluegrass Tractor and Truck Pull.
Parking is $5, with additional admission fees for some events.
