(BEDFORD) - Lawrence County Security and local officers were put on alert after they received a threat that someone planned to blow up the courthouse Wednesday morning.
Lawrence County police received a call at 11:49 a.m. from the Jackson County courthouse reporting a woman driving a red 2000 Chevrolet truck with Kentucky plates could be headed to the courthouse with a bomb. She had left Jackson County about 10 to 15 minutes before officers received the call.
While at the Jackson County courthouse the woman had made a threat that she was going to "blow up" the courthouse.
Lawrence County officials then notified the Bedford Police Department about the threat.
The woman was stopped by officers 11:37 a.m. on U.S. 50 East.
The woman told police she was upset and was not making the threat toward the courthouse but toward her ex-husband.
The woman was not charged in the incident.
