(LINTON) - 49-year-old Joe Bowersock, 49, of Linton, has been arrested after a man alleges Bowersock stabbed him with a knife, not once but several times.
Tarry Weddle suffered stab wounds to his chest, upper torso, his left leg and his right thigh and hip area. He was treated and since been released from the Greene County General Hospital.
According to police the stabbing happened during a fight outside of Bowersock's home on North County Road 1175 West on June 12.
Police says seven people were at Bowersock's home during the altercation. The fight started after Bowersock and a woman, Jamie Davidson got into an argument and the two exchanged blows. That is when Weddle tried to intervene and he claims Bowersock attacked him and started stabbing Weddle.
Bowersock's two friends then got involved and were kicking Weddle while he was on the ground, and one of them struck Weddle in the head with the butt of the rifle several times until it broke.
The Greene County Prosecutor's Office is reviewing the case and no one else has been charged as of Thursday.
Bowersock is facing charges of battery with a deadly weapon and is being held in the Greene County Jail on a $15,000 bond.
