(ORLEANS) - An Orleans boy was injured after he was hit by a car Friday afternoon on Ind. 37.
According to Orleans Police Chief Roy McFarland, 13-year-old Garrett Goller, was hit by a northbound 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse driving by Elizabeth Courtney, of Fredericksburg.
McFarland says, witnesses claim Goller ran from a business on the east side of Ind. 37 and he did not look in either direction for on-coming traffic before darting into the roadway.
Goller went up on the driver's side hood of the car and hit the windshield before falling to the ground.
He suffered a possible broken arm and head injuries. He was treated on the scene by an IU Health Paoli Hospital crew and then taken to the hospital. Courtney was not injured in the crash.
