(BEDFORD) - A Norman woman who crashed her car over an embankment Saturday was not discovered until Sunday morning.
According to a Lawrence County Police report, 67-year-old Roseanna George crashed on Old Sawmill Road, just east of State Road 58.
Police say George was traveling east on Old Sawmill Road when three deer ran into the roadway. George told police a westbound vehicle was approaching at the same time and that it swerved into George's lane of travel. To avoid a collision with the on-coming vehicle, George swerved her 2001 Pontiac Montana and lost control and drove over the embankment around 11 p.m. Saturday night.
The other vehicle left the scene.
George was unable to get out of the car because of her injuries.
Her vehicle was discovered by another motorist driving at 9:32 a.m. Sunday.
Indiana University Health Bedford Hospital ambulance personnel, the Pleasant Run Volunteer Fire Department and the Bedford Fire Department's extrication unit were dispatched to the scene.
Police were able to get George out of the vehicle without the assistance of the fire department.
