(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington Utilities recently found out that they were paying too much on its electric bill for he past several years - to the tune of three-quarters of a million dollars.
According to South Central Indiana REMC the city of Bloomington Utilities was overcharged at the Blucher Poole Wastewater Treatment Plant after the plant underwent an electrical upgrade in the fall of 2007.
REMC failed to reset the multiplier at the plant which is used to determine how much power the utilities department was using.
To correct the billing mistake REMC credited Bloomington utilities $735,000.
