(LOOGOOTEE) - Four Washington and two Loogootee residents were arrested Thursday after a Loogootee Police officer on routine patrol detected a strange odor near a Loogootee home.
Police received a search warrant and discovered a meth lab at the home.
Police arrested 24-year-old Danny Christenberry, 36-year-old Edith Mandabach Kavanaugh, 49-year-old Nikki Mandabach, and 49-year-old Matthew Ochs, all of Washington and 62-year-old Frederick O`Neal and 41-year-old Diona Hand, both of Loogootee.
Kavanaugh, Mandabach, and Ochs were charged with possession of meth, manufacturing meth, visiting a common nuisance, and possession of precursors.
Christenberry was charged with possession of meth, manufacturing meth, visiting a common nuisance, and possession of precursors as well as false informing.
Hand faces charges of neglect of a dependent and possession of marijuana, possession of meth, manufacturing meth, maintaining a common nuisance, and possession of precursors.
O'Neal faces counts of possession of a fireman by a serious violent felon as well as neglect of a dependent, possession of marijuana, possession of meth, manufacturing meth, maintaining a common nuisance, and possession of precursors.
Loogootee Mayor Noel Hearty praised Capt. Jason Hennette and other local law enforcement agencies for their hard work and dedication. Harty added that the city strives to promote drug awareness and his thoughts and prayers go out to the family involved in this unfortunate situation.
The Loogootee Police Department was assisted at the scene by the Martin County Sheriff's Department, Daviess County Sheriff's Department, Indiana State Police and the Indiana State Police Lab Team.
