(FRENCH LICK) - Springs Valley Bank & Trust Company has sold the French Lick bank building to Smithville, Indiana’s largest independently owned telecommunications company. Smithville services communities and rural areas in central and southern Indiana.
The bank will continue to occupy and conduct business at the building until the new banking center is constructed on the boulevard in French Lick. Springs Valley Bank will continue to operate and maintain the ATM at 505 S. Maple St. after the move.
Construction is underway for the new banking center to be completed later this year.
"We are thrilled that the French Lick Bank building will be reutilized in a manner to develop and enhance the French Lick downtown area", said Jamie Shinabarger, president and CEO. "Smithville is a respected, long time business resident in the Valley, and we look forward to the additional plans they have to expand their business," Shinabarger said.
"We are excited about the increased opportunities adding this easily accessible location will bring," said Darby A. McCarty, Smithville president and CEO. "We foresee a number of ways it will help us expand our offerings to meet and better serve our customers' needs. A larger selection of electronics and other products offered by The Smithville Store is just one."
