(LEESVILLE) - Two Bloomington woman were arrested early Sunday after police believe they broke into a home of a relative and stole items.
Lawrence County police arrested 22-year-old Laura Collins, on charges of maintaining a common nusiance, possession of a synthetic drug, reckless possession of paraphernalia. And her passenger
51-year-old Joyce Berry, of Bloomington, on charges of visiting a common nusiance and possession of a synthetic drug.
According to Lawrence County Sheriff Sam Craig, police were called to a home on Leesville Loop after a neighbor spotted a vehicle in the driveway of a home and believed those in the vehicle had broke into the home and were attempting to flee.
"The person blocked the vehicle in the drive and prevented them from leaving until police arrived," Craig says. "When officers arrived they learned Collins was related to the homeowner."
She told police she was there to get some of her belongings.
However officers found more than that in Collins vehicle after she gave them permission to search her car.
Officers were called to the same home on July 15 after a reported burglary.
"Officers found what tested positive for Spice in the vehicle and other items that were possibly taken from the home," Craig says. "The case is still under investigation at this time to determine if in fact the items were stolen."
