(BLOOMINGTON) - A second Bloomington juvenile has been arrested and charged as an adult this week in connection with a man’s report he was beaten and robbed of cash and cigarettes in early June.
Bloomington police arrested Brian O'Bannon, 16, 556 S. Basswood Drive, on a warrant on a felony charge of robbery. He was booked into the Monroe County Jail at 6:07 p.m. Thursday, where he was being held in lieu of a $20,000 surety, $500 cash bond.
On Tuesday, 17-year-old Skyler Wayne Bireley was transferred from a juvenile detention center in Vincennes to the Monroe County Jail on the same felony charge.
The arrests stem from a 19-year-old's report that he was beaten and robbed of the cash and cigarettes from his pockets in the area of South Worthington and Burberry lanes at 9:45 p.m. on June 5.
The 19-year-old told police he had just gotten off a bus when he was approached by a teenager he knows and two other males he didn't know. He reported one of the males grabbed him, while another searched his pockets, taking his cash and cigarettes. He said he was punched several times in the face and was treated at a hospital.
