(BLOOMFIELD) - A Bloomfield man whose electric service had been shut off for non-payment is in trouble.
According to the Greene County Daily World, 63-year-old Robert Clark, was arrested last week by Lt. Marshal Jeremy Inman of the Bloomfield Police Department.
Officer Inman was on routine patrol when he drove by Clark's residence on South Jefferson Street in Bloomfield and saw Clark in the act of attempting to hook wires into an electric meter box owned by Duke Energy.
Inman turned around, drove back and talked to Clark. When the officer arrived Clark was still attempting to "jump the power box."
The meter had been removed by the electric company because Clark had not paid his bill. Clark told police he was a good electrician and that he could hook it up.
Clark was arrested and charged with attempted theft a Class D felony.
