(UNDATED) - Lyme Disease is more common in the United States than originally thought.
According to the CDC, about 300 thousand people are infected each year.
That's 10 times the number previously believed to suffer from the tick-borne disease.
Health officials say if you're outdoors in woodsy areas, it's important to check every few hours for ticks.
Lyme disease is most common in the northeast and Midwest, but has been found all over the country.
Symptoms include a bulls eye shaped rash, fever, fatigue and joint and muscle pain.
