Man Injured After Dogs Cause Him To Crash Motorcycle

Last updated on Thursday, August 8, 2013

(FAYETTEVILLE) - A Fayetteville man was injured after two dogs ran in front of his motorcycle causing him to lay the bike down.

67-year-old Glen Tinch suffered scrapes and bruises to his forehead, right elbow and leg. He also suffered a possible dislocated knee.

He was taken by an IU Health Hospital ambulance to the hospital.

According to a Lawrence County Police report, Tinch was traveling west on Johnson Lane just west of Woodview Estates Road when two dogs ran from the south side of the road into the path of his 2000 Triumph Speed Master.

Tinch attempted to swerve to miss the dogs and that is when he laid the bike down on its side, trapping his leg underneath.

An IU Health Hospital ambulance crew and Indian Creek Volunteer Fire Department first responders were treating Tinch when officers arrived.

Police say Tinch was not wearing a helmet and had not been drinking.

Tinch told police this is not the first time the dogs had chased his motorcycle.

A firefighter from Indian Creek VFD drove Tinch's bike to Tinch's home for him.
