Organizer Eddie McLain says 35 cars and drivers participated in this years event.
"This year we had some outstanding designs on cars, some were really creative, and some were simply built," McLain says. "The better they looked didn't mean how well they performed. At least one of those cars, a 1930 look alike built by Alex Gillihan's dad, had countless hours of preparation in paint and designed, featured a custom built front end. Although it was a beautiful car to see, it didn't go as fast as some cars without much creativity at all. It's all about reducing friction against the road, the one that can do this best is the winner."
Participants and spectators donated food and toiletry items for the Lawrence Interfaith Endeavor Food Pantry.
