(MITCHELL) - 34-year-old Brandon Godsey, of Mitchell, was arrested by Indiana State Police on three counts of child molesting.
According to a probable cause affidavit, on March 22, an ISP detective received a report from a Department of Child Services investigator that a 12-year-old girl was taken to the hospital for a possible seizure, but also tested positive for trichomaniasis and Chlamydia, both sexually transmitted diseases.
The Department of Children Services removed the girl from the home.
When the girl was interviewed, police say she denied having sex with anyone and could not explain how she had gotten the diseases.
The girl's mother and Godsey, a male relative, were tested. Both tested positive for Chlamydia.
According to a doctor, the likelihood of contacting Chlamydia through other means, other than sexual contact was "'incredibly unlikely."
Godsey denied having sex with the girl and told police she had gotten the disease from his fluid on the toilet seat in his bathroom.
Godsey also told police that there had been sexual contact between his then 15-year-old son and the girl.
However, the son told police that when his dad learned the girl had the disease he took him to be tested. He then gave the boy an eye dropper of fluid, which the son thought was urine, and told him to empty the eyedropper into his urine sample.
The son also told police that his father would make him go to bed early while the girl stayed up with his father.
While in therapy, the girl did admit that Godsey had sex with her.
According to police, the first time happened when the family were living in Hamilton Courts while her mother worked nights and she and her younger brother were alone with Godsey.
The girl told police Godsey would be in his room watching inappropriate movies and invite her to join and then would have sex with her. The girl told police it happened too many times to count and that the sex continued after the family moved to Mitchell. It then stopped after it was discovered the girl had the STD.
