(BROWNSTOWN) - A Vallonia man died and his wife was injured Wednesday night when their motorcycle struck a tree limb that had fallen onto a state road south of Brownstown.
Larry Thomas, 44, was killed in the wreck, reported at 10:12 p.m. Wednesday on State Road 135 about a mile south of Brownstown near County Road 150W, Officer Adam Nicholson said.
His body was then struck by a northbound vehicle, police said.
An autopsy conducted Thursday morning, however, showed Thomas died from head and neck injuries from the initial impact with the tree limb, Jackson County Coroner Roger Wheeler said.
Wheeler had pronounced Thomas dead at the scene.
