(OOLITIC) - An Oolitic man was arrested after he allegedly got into a confrontation with a woman Saturday night.
According to Lawrence County Sheriff Sam Craig, officers were called to a home in the 100 block of Lafayette Avenue just before 8 p.m. after a report of a man swinging his crutch at people.
When police arrived, they found that 22-year-old Steven Lovitt had injured a woman.
The woman told police that Lovitt was threatening to hit them with his crutch and then pushed her against the wall, causing pain to her back.
"The woman was treated at the scene by emergency responders and signed a battery affidavit," Craig says.
The Oolitic Police Department assisted at the scene.
