(OOLITIC) - The Oolitic Police Department is a force of two full-time officers Marshal Jon Jeffries and Deputy Marshal Bill Allen and three reserves, Jeff Franklin, Tony Fetter and Tonya Taylor, but they are making criminals nervous.
According to Allen the department has made a huge dent in crime.
So far this year the department has solved 28 out of 31 cases. According to Allen, the department has the highest rate of crime solving in the county.
The department's k-9 Shani is the only Labrador with a level 3 tracking certificate in the U.S. and has more than 33 arrests to her name for the year.
The department has made 13 drug arrests, 2 sexual related arrests, made 33 traffic arrests and investigated and arrested 10 on child abuse or neglect charges.
Officers have also assisted other police departments on 25 cases.
The Jeffries and Allen have completed 470 hours of training and the reserve officers have completed 300 hours. Shani had completed 100 hours of training this years.
