(BLOOMINGTON) - The parents of missing IU student Lauren Spierer have filed papers in federal court asking that their wrongful death lawsuit against three of their daughter’s friends be allowed to move forward.
The filing is in response to a motion filed by one of the friends, Michael Beth, that claimed there's no proof that Spierer is dead, since she has only been missing for two years.
In the paperwork filed Thursday by the missing student's parents, they say there is plenty of evidence that their daughter is dead.
Spierer was last seen June 3, 2011, near her apartment off the Indiana University campus.
