(MITCHELL) - Spring Mill State Park will have its inaugural Children’s Outdoor Weekend Saturday and Sunday. It will include two full days of activities, games, crafts and fun.
Children can attend programs through the day that will earn them a "Children's Outdoor Bill of Rights" patch and certificate.
Some of the activities will include: meeting a conservation officer and learning about personal safety in parks, a Naturalist-led hike, planting seeds to take home, creek stomps and fishing games with prizes.
The Department of Natural Resources established its "Bill of Rights" to encourage children to participate in outdoor activities.
All events are free with park admission.
