(FORT HARRISON STATE PARK) - Share your passion for outdoor activities by volunteering at Indiana’s largest hands-on outdoor recreation event, the Ford Hoosier Outdoor Experience, Sept. 21-22.
This is the fifth annual event and the first year with a title sponsor. The Ford title sponsorship is made possible by Central Indiana Ford dealers.
Held at Fort Harrison State Park in Indianapolis, the free event is presented by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources and the Indiana Natural Resources Foundation. It features more than 50 activities, including fishing, mountain biking, target shooting and many more, with 120 grassroots partners providing further opportunities to learn about the outdoors.
The purpose of the Ford Hoosier Outdoor Experience is to introduce people to outdoor activities they may have never tried before.
Each day, the event opens to the public at 10 a.m. and runs until 6 p.m. Volunteers and staff are on site at 9 a.m. for setup and an hour after gates close for tear down.
