(WORTHINGTON) - A 30-year-old woman and a five-year-old boy were transported to the hospital following a one-vehicle accident near Worthington Thursday morning.
Anna Rochelle, of the Greene County Daily World reports, Jessica Anderson, of Worthington, was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Blazer eastbound on Terre Haute Road west of Worthington when the crash occurred around 7:45 a.m.
Lt. Bryan K. Woodall of the Greene County Sheriff's Department responded and reported the Blazer went off the south side of the roadway near the intersection of Terre Haute Road and County Road 800W. The driver attempted to correct but then went off the north side of the road.
Woodall said the Blazer then hit a culvert which caused the vehicle to start flipping. The Blazer flipped at least two times, striking a fence and a mailbox before it came to rest on its wheels facing north.
Gavyn Anderson, age five, was a passenger and was transported along with Anderson to Greene County General Hospital.
No information was released regarding their injuries, but Woodall said both driver and passenger were believed to have been wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash.
The accident was reported by another driver who was following the Blazer. The witness stated they did not see erratic driving prior to the accident.
In addition to Deputy Woodall, Worthington Fire Territory personnel responded to the scene along with Greene County Ambulance units out of Linton and Jasonville.
