(BEDFORD) - The Bedford City Council is scheduled to meet at 5:30 p.m., but no business is on the agenda. Instead city officials will be touring the historic Stalker School building, which has been renovated to house apartments.
But because a majority of the council will be in the same place at the same time, the city has sent out notice of a meeting
The $3.5 million renovation project has been spearheaded by Hoosier Uplands, the same organization that transformed the former Paoli school building into apartments.
The plan was to create 21, 2-bedroom apartments. The apartments will be energy-star certified. Rent will range from $235 to $396 a month, based on income.
